“Colton has spent hundreds of nights, and over 3,500 hours on intensive meditation retreats, in both monastic and lay settings for durations of up to three months, much of which has been done under a vow of silence, and some while fasting..”

..Colton Created Still-Rhythm as a platform for offering Teachings of Mindfulness, Mindful and Compassionate-Living, and Inner-Transformation to the public, from a deeply felt sense of duty to share what he himself had found along the path of Mindfulness, Clear-Comprehension and Insight, or Sati-Sampajanna Samatha-Vipassana in old Pali…

..Colton was born and raised in the southwest and is a native to the mountains of Colorado. He enjoys percussion instruments of all kinds and has a deep connection with Sound healing practices. He uses a 3’ft diameter Meinl sonic resonant (heart-Chakra) Gong at sound healings, and often accompanies it with a Meinl octave tongue drum, which he uses to further entrance listeners with deeply soothing and hypnotic melodies after a full session with the Gong. He strives for the deepest immersion possible at sound events and believes meditative practice during sound healings to be extremely complementary, and goes above and beyond by providing tatami floor mats, blankets and padded eye covers to support deeper immersion..

..Colton is also a novice herbalist and loves blending herbal teas from his small home apothecary. He’s a connoisseur and lover of traditional world teas as well and is a professional Carpenter by trade..

..Colton has devoted much of his life to researching, practicing and developing and refining his method of teaching Dharma, devotional practices and meditative disciplines so that his method is as intuitive, applicable and immediately clear and comprehensive as possible for his students and patrons. He is deeply versed in systems of thought and practices of inner development and is a lifelong practitioner of meditation and a student of the systems found within Theravada Buddhism. He has over 3,500 hours of experience on intensive meditation retreats, in both monastic and lay settings, much of which has been done under a vow of silence, and some, also while fasting.. He has spent 13 years studying the Pali Cannon and Sutta Pitaka (the traditional Suttas of the Buddhas teachings) and is deeply versed in the many system within it. He also has a firm knowledge of world cosmologies, spiritual practices and related systems and practices to that of meditation and of the many wisdom teachings throughout our world…
